Please, Help Provide The Gift of Life!

While there are millions of people in the world who are in need, we thank you for taking just a few minutes to read about Charlie G. Our prayer is that you will have the heart to help Charlie find a kidney donor.

Nice to Meet You

My Name Is Charlie G., And I Urgently Need A Kidney Donor.

Charlie is a victim of Renal Dysplasia, a hereditary genetic disease that impacts his kidney functions to extreme levels. This genetic disorder is also shared by his children, which prevents them from being able to donate a kidney to help Charlie or other folks with donation needs.

Charlie is a US Army veteran, a Shriner, a Mason, and a supporting patron of the Greek Orthodox Church. He has lived a life of service and continues to aid the community wherever possible, which lately has focused on the areas of senior care and support for various efforts of the Church.

Charlie’s greatest dream is to live a healthy life, long enough to watch his grandchildren graduate from college and see them have families of their own.

While Charlie is over 60, he leads a very healthy lifestyle and believes that he has many more healthy and happy years ahead.

Charlie is looking for someone willing to donate a kidney to help him reach his dreams and continue to be a loving and supporting member of his family for many years to come.

How To Help Charlie

Charlie can benefit directly from a donation of an organ if a match is found. Testing can be performed on any potential donor at no cost to them, including any needed lodging and travel.

To begin the process, simply visit: https://www.mghlivingdonors.org and follow the directions on the site.

Even if your donation is not a genetic match for Charlie, he is enrolled in an exchange program that would allow your donation to go to another person in need. The program would then provide a genetic matching donation to Charlie.

No donation goes unwanted or unused - in fact, in some cases, multiple lives are saved by the kindness of a single organ gift.

To begin the process of being tested to see if your donation is possible, simply visit the URL above and follow the directions on the site.

The entire donation process is entirely free of charge, and we greatly appreciate your efforts to save the life of another.

A Letter from Charlie's wife, Cheryl

We Need A Hero!

My name is Cheryl G., and I am the wife of Charles "Charlie" G. We have been married for 50 years and were blessed with three children, Elena, Charlie, and Marie. We have seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In November of 2021, our lives changed forever. Charlie had a cholesterol test and was told to get to a hospital immediately because of a problem with another test he had taken. We found out Charlie was in kidney failure. The type of kidney disease is Renal Dysplasia, which is a genetic disease. Charlie was born with only one kidney, which is now barely functional. My Charlie, the love of my life, desperately needs a hero.

My daughter Elena is also going into failure. This gene, it seems, has cursed my whole family. No one is able to donate. Charlie has worked hard his whole life and continues to hold a full-time job, and goes to dialysis twice a week. He is the first to stop and help others whenever needed. Even though days are rough, he still helps his family, friends, and even those he doesn’t know. Charlie's smile lights up and makes the saddest person smile with him. It’s his gift and comes from his heart to the world.

Please, if there is any person who ever thought of being a hero, please consider being a living donor. Charlie's blood type is O. A living donor does not have to match the recipient. They have a swap program. Were you to give your kidney to the swap, they will give him an O blood kidney to match the recipient.

God bless, and may his grace be with all who consider being a hero for our family!
